Ueno Bank is Paraguay’s first universal digital bank, seeking to transform the financial market through a simple, transparent, and accessible banking model. It is distinguished by its focus on financial inclusion, allowing users to open accounts and access banking services quickly from their mobile devices, without the need for complex procedures. In addition to offering savings accounts and international debit cards, Ueno Bank provides loans and the “Ueno duo card,” which combines debit and credit functions in a single card. The bank has grown rapidly, positioning itself as a leader in Paraguay in terms of the number of customers and cards, and has expanded to more than 70 physical locations to complement its digital offering.
Ueno Bank of Paraguay demonstrates a firm environmental commitment by integrating sustainability into its strategy. They are the first Paraguayan bank to join the UN Global Compact, aligning themselves with the Sustainable Development Goals. They implement environmental management policies to minimize their impact, promote recycling with “EcoPoints,” and use sustainable materials in their infrastructure, seeking to become a benchmark in responsible banking. As a culmination of their environmental efforts, in 2025 Ueno Bank received its certification as a 100% Carbon Neutral Company®.
“For the 100% Carbon Neutral Program, it is always a priority to incorporate Latin American business leaders into the fight against climate change. Since joining the program, Ueno Bank has demonstrated initiative and a genuine desire to demonstrate in the environmental field what it is achieving in the banking sector: becoming a market leader. We are certainly happy to work side by side with them and lead them to carbon neutrality.” – Javier Segura Mora, COO Latam
