About the project you are supporting:
The Teesta-V Hydro Power Project, located in the state of Sikkim, India, is implemented by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC), a Government of India enterprise. This run-of-the-river scheme has an installed capacity of 510 MW, comprising three generating units of 170 MW each. The project includes a concrete gravity dam across the Teesta River, a 15-kilometer head race tunnel, and an underground powerhouse situated near Singtam, approximately 4 kilometers upstream of the confluence of the Rongnichu and Teesta rivers. With a dependable discharge of 60 cubic meters per second and a gross head of 216.73 meters, the plant is projected to generate 2,572.67 million kilowatt-hours (MU) of energy annually under 90% dependable year conditions and 95% machine availability. The energy produced will be supplied to the Eastern region via the NEWNE grid, contributing to sustainable energy development in India’s northeastern corridor.
